Principal Investigator

jaj  Joaquim Jorge
Full Professor of Computer Science at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST/ULisboa), the School of Engineering of the Technical University of Lisboa, Portugal, where he teaches User Interfaces and Computer Graphics and coordinates the INESC-ID’s Visualization and Intelligent Multimodal Interfaces Group (VIMMI). He received PhD and MSc degrees in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY in 1994. He is Editor-in-chief of Elsevier’s Computers and Graphics Journal. His interests are in Calligraphic and Multimodal User Interfaces, Visual Languages and Pattern Recognition techniques applied to Human-Computer Interaction. He was elected Fellow of the EUROGRAPHICS Association in 2010.

afj Alfredo Ferreira
Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico / University of Lisbon. Alfredo Ferreira received his Ph.D. (2009), MSc (2005) and BS (2002) degrees in Information Systems and Computer Science from IST/TU Lisbon. He is also a researcher of the Visualization and Intelligent Multimodal Interfaces Group at INESC-ID since 2002. He works on 3D object analysis classification and retrieval, virtual and augmented reality, multimodal interfaces and touch/gesture-based interaction. He was involved in several EC funded projects as well as national-funded projects.
brar Bruno de Araújo
Researcher at INESC-ID Lisboa and INRIA Lille. Bruno Araujo holds PhD (2013), MsC (2008) and BS Degrees (2003) in Computer and Informatics Engineering from IST/UTL. He is currently a researcher at the MINT Group at INRIA Lille and the VIMMI Group at INESC-ID Lisbon. He is interested in Sketch based interfaces and 3D user interfaces using large scale displays and stereoscopic interactive surfaces. He defended his PhD on semi-immersive environments for 3D modeling in July 2013.
dmendes Daniel Mendes
PhD Student at Técnico Lisboa / Technical University of Lisbon
Received his MSc (2011) and BSc (2008) degrees in Information Systems and Computer Science from Técnico Lisboa / Technical Univertsity of Lisbon. Is also a researcher in the Visualization and Intelligent Multimodal Interfaces Group at INESC-ID Lisbon. Main interest areas are virtual reality, multimodal interfaces, 3D user interfaces and touch / gesture-based interactions.
Fernando Fonseca
Researcher at INESC-ID Lisboa. Fernando Fonseca holds a MSc (2013) degree in Computer and Informatics Engineering from IST/UTL. He is currently a researcher at the VIMMI Group at INESC-ID Lisbon. He is interested in Sketch based interfaces and 3D user interfaces using large scale displays and stereoscopic interactive surfaces.
